The mobile phone industry is preparing and gearing up for the release of one of the most significant smartphones on the market for some time this summer. The phone involved is created by Nokia and will be called the N8. On this page, I will be taking a review at, what this feature rich, high end mobile phone will have to offer shoppers in the next few months.
Powering the Nokia N8 is the latest edition of the Symbian operating system, Symbian 3. Customise one of three home screens with interactive widgets, shortcuts and content and navigate through with a flick of the touchscreen. Boost your N8 with downloadable apps which you can grab from the Ovi Store and run multiple applications with ease thanks to improved memory management that have been incorporated into this device.
The Nokia n8 smart phone comes with outstanding optics, gorgeous style and design, on-demand TV for channels like CNN and National Geo, and a huge array of features take the Nokia N8 mobile phone straight to the head of the bunch. The 12 megapixel digital camera records 720p video and professional optics from Carl Zeiss combine with a xenon flash, face recognition and geo-tagging to bring possibly the very best camera and video package on the market. The multimedia tale doesn’t end here though, with innovative inclusions of a HDMI interface for TV or projector connectivity and Dolby Digital Plus technology for compatibility with home theater systems – a nice added bonus we think.
The Nokia N8 features an impressive 3.5 inch AMOLED touchscreen with multi-touch technology supporting pinch-to-zoom in maps and the web browser. The N8 touchscreen is fast and responsive and also supports auto screen rotation thanks to a built in accelerometer and a proximity sensor which automatically puts the screen on standby if you are making a phone call. This is no doubt allow you to save on the battery life of your mobile phone.
The Nokia n8 can download apps from the Ovi store via the 3G HSDPA web browser. For music junkies there’s an FM radio and Nokia’s Music Player. The Nokia N8 comes with 16GB of internatl memory on the handset. If this is not enough for you, it can be boosted up to 48GB. This will give you more space to store all your favourite music tracks. The battery life is great too, it will offer users about 50 hours from just one charge up. This is a lot more than you would get from other high end, feature packed mobile phones on the market, which often have a very poor battery life.
Connectivity options are diverse with quad-band roaming, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Emails are taken care of by a unified email client while instant messaging capability and SMS in a conversational view will flawlessly round off virtually any customers communication wants. Nokia are also offering navigation for free with GPS and Ovi Maps providing turn-by-turn, on foot or by car, voice guided instructions. The Nokia N8 mobile phone is a tremendous smartphone package deal with too many features to describe in a single article, but we are doing our very best.
So, this is a really stylish looking mobile that will make your buddies very jealous. However, it doesn’t stop here, since the Nokia N8 isn’t just a mobile with good looks. It has substance to back up its outwards appearance. The features are both useful and usable and the addition of a 12 megapixel camera, which is said to rival those on stand alone cameras is a very welcome addition and great move by Nokia.
